Quotation (RFQ) for Orifice Restrictors, quantity 8 each, to support
the Space Station Furnace Facility Thermal and Environmental Control
Subsystem,quality requirements per NASA Quality Publication NHB
5300.4(1B),''Quality Program Provisions For Aeronautical And Space
System Contractors'',Flight quality -- The orifice restrictor shall be
capable of flowing 50 - 150 lbm/hr of coolant water at 50 - 130
degrees F and 18 - 100 psia -- The pressure drop across the orifice
restrictor shall be 9 psid at a flow rate of 50 lbm/hr of water -- The
orifice restrictor shall be designed such that the flow area through
the orifice restrictor may be enlarged to accommodate a flow rate of up
to 150 lbm/hr of water without exceeding the 9 psid pressure drop --
The inlet and outlet ports shall be 1/2-inch female connections per
MS33649-08 -- Interconnecting tubing shall be 0.5-inch OD with a
0.028-inch wall thickness -- The orifice restrictor envelope should not
exceed 4 inches x 2 inches x 2 inches -- Its weight should not exceed
2 lb (1-lb goal) -- The orifice restrictor shall have a minimum
operational life of 15 years, allowing for periodic inspections,
corrective maintenance, and replacement of softgoods -- The external
leakage for the orifice restrictor shall not exceed 3 x 10-5 scc/sec
GHe at 100 psia internal pressure throughout the operating temperature
range -- The orifice restrictor shall be verified as flight hardware
(via test and assessment) for use on the Space Station -- It shall meet
the materials and environmental requirements for Space Station hardware
-- Delivery required by October 01, 1996 -- This procurement is being
conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of
the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) -- Requests for copies
of the RFQ must be submitted in writing -- Transmission by facsimile

acceptable -- The RFQ will be posted on or about 15 days after
publication of this notice in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) -- The
RFQ will have a 15 day response period -- This procrement is a total
