Charles A. Hughes (816) 823-1342 The U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA,
intends to purchase twenty (20) Automatic Liquid Dielectric Testers,
Hipotronics Model OC60D and Model TC/DE Test Cells, delivered FOB
Destination to Kansas City, Missouri. These testers are used by the
National Weather Service to measure the breakdown voltage of electrical
insulating oils and will support the operation of the WSR-88D weather
surveillance Radars commonly known as NEXRAD. Due to technical
compatibility issues and national testing standards, the Government
believes that only that equipment manufactured by Hipotronics will meet
the Governments needs. The intended procurement is for supplies for
which the Government intends to acquire from one manufacturer under the
authority of 41USC253(c)(1). The Government knows of only one source
authorized to provide the tester, Ideal Electronic Supply Company,
located in Washington, DC. Any other small business sources, able to
provide the exact make and model of the equipment referenced herein is
encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days after it's
publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, it's name,
address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief
statement regarding its capability to provide the specified equipment,
and the name, telephone number, and point of contact for of businesses
or other Government agencies to which it has previously provided the
equipment. This information should be submitted to the addresses stated
herein or may be faxed to telephone number 816-823-3447. This is not a
request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this
time. This acquisition is being conducted pursuant to the guidelines
set forth in FAR part 13. The Government reserves the right to solicit
bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue
an order to Ideal Electronic Supply Company whichever is determined to
be more advantageous to the Government without further notice. The
anticipated award date is December 12, 1995. The Standard Industrial
Classification Code is 3825. The small business size standard is 500
