Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS),
Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), requires a follow-on contract
for aircraft services to support emergency fruit fly programs in
southern California. The successful contractor shall provide 0 to 6
airplanes, as needed, with qualified pilots and dispersers for aerial
distribution of sterile fruit flies. Special purpose modifications will
be required for installation of Government- furnished property (sterile
insect release machine and equipment). The aircraft shall be a cabin
class twin-engine capable of maintaining a cruise speed of 160 MPH. A
firm, fixed-price, requirements contract is anticipated covering the
period of February 1, 1996 through January 31, 1997 with two one-year
renewal options to extend the effective period of the contract, not to
exceed three (3) years. The solicitation is scheduled to be released
