This project includes the remodel of the existing patient rooms and the addition of bath and rest room facilities in each patient room; the convertion of congregate bath area into staff/visitors bathrooms; brings two of the single bed patient rooms up to the proper ventilation code levels for contagious tuberculosis; converts the nurse station and other areas into a more functional set up; crates an additional room for the use of family members and consultants. The project includes compliance with code requirements for HVAC, ceiling materials, lighting, electrical, and mechanical. The interested A/E firms shall have a Certified industrial Hygienist (CIH) as part of the design team. All interested firms must have Autocad capabilities. Each firm shall be evaluated on the following criteria: (1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services; (2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required; (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time; (4) Past performance on contracts with Government Agencies and Private Industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compiance with performance schedules; and (5) location in the general geographical area of the project. Consideration is limited to firms having an existing active design production office within a 75 mile radious of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fresno, CA. At least one memmber of any proposed joint venture must have an existing design production office within the geographic limitation. Joint venture or firm/consultant arrangements will be considered and evaluated on a demonstrated interdependency of the member to provide a quality design effort. Respondens must demonstrate capability to perform 80% of all contract services in existing production offices within the geographic limitation. This solicitation is unrestricted and invites full and open competition. Interested firms are to submit SF 254 and SF 255's by close of business 12/18/95. This is not a request for proposal.
