J -- REPLACEMENT OF COOLING WATER PIPING AND APPURTENANCES FOR GENERATOR UNIT NO. 3, PARKER DAM POWERPLANT, PARKER-DAVIS PROJECT, ARIZONA-CALIFORNIA SOL 1425-6-SI-30-11510 POC Caryn Rotheim, Procurement Technician, at 702-293-8588; Synopsis No. 95-52 The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement to remove from the powerplant and dispose of the existing cooling water piping for generator unit No. 3, which is in a deteriorated condition due to corrosion. The work includes: replacing old carbon steel piping with stainless steel piping; replacing existing twin basket strainer with an automatic, motor-operated, self-cleaning strainer; replacing manual valving in the cooling water piping; reinstalling existing pneumatically controlled shutoff valve and eight sight flow indicators in the new piping. The work is scheduled to be completed during the unit overhaul period from September 23 through December 20, 1996. The work is located at the Parker Dam Powerplant, on the California side of the Colorado River, approximately 20 miles south of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in San Bernardino County, California. The estimated cost range of this project is $50,001 to $100,000. The presolicitation notice (SF 1417) for this project is currently available. Estimated issuance date of the solicitation is December 8, 1995; estimated date for receipt of bids is January 9, 1996. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 1711 and the small business size standard is $7 million.
