The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), China Lake, California, intends to exercise Option A, CLIN 0001AC, to Contract Number N68936-95-D-0271 with CTA, Incorporated, 6116 Executive Blvd., Suite 800, Rockville, MD 20852 on an Other than Full and Open Competition Basis. The period of performance for the option is from 1 January 96 - 31 March 96 for a total estimated 114,992 labor hours. This is a bridge contract to span the period needed to transition to the new four year contract. The basic contract was awarded on a sole source basis to CTA, Inc. for the period from 1 Oct 95 - 31 Dec 95 to provide technical support services for computer systems embedded within Naval tactical aircraft, airborne weapon systems, related support equipment, and the ground-based test laboratories/simulators/trainers incorporating simulations of such systems. Navy airborne attack weapons systems currently assigned to China Lake are the A-6, F/A-18, AV-8B, and AH-1. The WSSA support services include, but are not limited to, the following: system engineering and integration of Navy airborne weapons, avionics, sensors, and system hardware and software (including system research and development and flight test procedures and support); development, upgrade operation and maintenance of software simulation and system test laboratories including upgrades of related trainers/simulators); software engineering/development for aircraft computers, avionics, sensors weapons systems, and mission and system support equipment (including software Quality Assurance (QA), Configuration Management (CM), and Verification and Validation (V&V) testing); WSSA program-level support; aircraft test modification and ground-based telemetry systems).
