Construction of an approximately 1,900 square-foot, one story, steel framed, unheated building on piles with metal roof and siding, containing a machining wastes storage area, trailer storage, machining chip transfer station, 5-ton crane with industrial magnet, and a buried waste oil storage tank. The site is contaminated with oil and various metals. All excavated material will receive special handling and will not be reused as backfill. The contractor for this project will have experience with building cranes as well as hazardous wastes. Although the in situ soil has been characterized as contaminated but not hazardous, familiarity with accident prevention plans and site safety procedures under hazardous conditions is highly desirable.
