a dual independent column/spindle, computer numerically controlled
(CNC), floor type, 6-axis horizontal boring mill with a programmable
rotary table, a programmable machining head (attachment), automatic
tool changer, and tooling and fixturing features. The machining center
shall be a new (not a prototype) and one of the manufacturer's current
production models. It shall consist of two independently operable
horizontal boring mills sharing the same work mounting surface and
rotary axis. Both spindles/machines shall be capable of simultaneous
operation with necessary control functions to allow for rotary axis
movement by either spindle/machine. The machine may contain reclaimed
materials to the maximum extent possible provided such materials will
not jeopardize the intended use, performance, or design life of the
machine. All electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic operating
controls shall be located convenient to the operator's work station(s).
This requirement is subject to the availability of funds. 1 each. A
best value acquisition will be performed and past performance will be
evaluated. System is to be installed at Anniston Army Depot, Anniston,
AL 36201-4199 within 120 days after contract award. All responsible
