(2) Characteristics: This system consists of a number of portable satellite earth stations with excellent movability and center stations (main/sub stations) that enable communications with portable satellite earth stations. Major requirements for the system are as follows: (a) System conditions: i. Frequency band to be used: Ku band (14/12 GHz). ii. Number of circuits for simultaneous connection. Twenty or more circuits for two-way communications between one center station and portable satellite earth stations (one two-way communications circuit for one portable satellite earth station). iii. Types of communications: voice communications and low-speed data communications. iv. Functions necessary for the system - function to monitor and control the state of earth stations and circuits - function to connect with general public networks (b) Conditions for portable satellite earth station. i. Unit-type, light station for easy portability. ii. Operable with DC12V and AC100V (3) Scheduled quantity: Portable Earth Station: 90 units. Central Earth Station: 2 units. Please note that this procurement for the products for sales to NTT's customers and fully dependent on purchase orders placed by the customers. Accordingly there may be some cases where NTT doesn't purchase the products from the selected suppliers. (4) Delivery period: March, 1996. According to circumstances, the delivery period and the quantity may change. (5) Delivery site: NTT will separately specify the places in Japan as delivery sites. (6) Procurement Procedure: This procurement program shall be conducted in accordance with the Track II procurement procedure. (7) Number of suppliers to be selected: One supplier will be selected.
