POSITIONING SYSTEM BASED DATA COLLECTION AND CONTROL Contact Mr. Scott

Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3790. Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies, a
management and operating contractor for the Department of Energy at the
Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL) is seeking a participant
in Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) for the joint
development of a robust multi-purpose, multi-tasking computer system
for Global Positioning System (GPS) based data collection and control.
The system will be developed for non-profit agricultural research
institutes and the commercial agriculture community. The selected
participant must have: (1) a successful record in the fabrication and
commercialization of agricultural products for commercial growers; (2)
experience with the production of electronic system that can withstand
extreme weather and a dusty dirty environment; (3) experience in the
design, development, and fabrication of intelligent multi-drop
instrument communication busses; (4) experience in the design,
development, and fabrication of small graphical display systems and
input devices; (5) knowledge of control systems required for the
production and harvest of agricultural crops; (6) familiarization in
the integration of sub-meter GPS for field data collection and control
system; and (7) an interface directly to existing yield monitor and
chemical application system instrument busses. Participant must aid in
feature design of user friendly software but permit the INEL to be the
key facilitator in the production of software. A license option
agreement will be negotiated with the participant for any software
produced. Those interested in participating must provide a written
response which includes; a brief description of their technical and
financial capabilities, and examples of systems which show expertise in
the required areas 1-7 listed above. This is not a government contract.
