D -- LAN CABLING SERVICES SOL 8191 DUE 022896 POC Karen Phillips (703)648-7372 (contact), Maggie Russell (703)648-7366 (CO) The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Office of Information Services, has a requirement for local area network (LAN) cabling, and related support services for its LAN operations at the USGS Headquarters in Reston, Virginia. The cabling services include LAN supplies, LAN cable installation, installation of LAN electronic components, consulting and design of LAN cabling systems, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, and documentation of cabling design. The cabling system includes wiring between and from closets up to and including the network interface card (NIC). Supplies include the full range of cable and cable related components required to support ''thick'' ethernet, ''thin'' ethernet, twisted pair and fiber media using ethernet, FDDI, and ATM based protocols. The contract term is intended to be a one-year base period with four one-year option periods. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
