The Air Force is considering alternatives for replacement compressor rotor blades and spacers for a large wind tunnel. The existing blades have been in service since the early 1960s and are manufactured from epoxy/glass using a hollow box reinforced design. The blades are approximately 82 inches long and operate at 300 degrees f, continuous. The Air Force is seeking information about alternative materials and designs. This is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information.
