The tow vehicle will be capable of transporting dynamic cone
penetrometer (DCP) equipment, pavement coring equipment, and material
to patch holes cored in the pavement during DCP tests and other
instrumentation. This support vehicle must be compatible with other WES
owned instrumentation (9000 system processor) in support of the HWD.
The basic requirements for the tow vehicle are: 7.3 Diesel Engine
mounted forward of passenger compartment; Electronic 4-speed automatic
transmission; LT 245/75Rx16E tires (5); 4.10 ratio limited slip rear

developed by Dynatest, which will be integrated with the support
vehicle and the Heavy Weight Deflectometer (HWD). The 9000 system
processor, when activated, controls both the support vehicle and the
HWD. The 9000 system processor has been specifically engineered to
operate the tow vehicle specified. Dynatest is the only source which
has the ability to simulate any malfunction and give guidance to field
personnel to repair or overcome encountered problems. Dynatest is the
only company authorized to repair or upgrade their HWDS. See numbered
