POC G. Smith, Code 1162NC, Contracting Officer, (812) 854-3698. Naval
Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane) has
been named the Technical Development Agent for the US Special Operation
Command (USSOCOM) Maritime Weapons Program (MARWEPS). This program is
executed through the Office of Special Technology (OST) of Fort
Washington, Maryland and is centered around enhancing the capabilities
of Naval Special Warfare (NSW) weapon systems. The enhancements being
sought are primarily being focused on conventional NSW weapon systems
but may also include other weapons/systems not currently being
employed in NSW. Enhancements may include, but are not limited, to
sighting systems, power driven and/or stabilized gun mounts, missiles,
smart munitions, torpedoes, flame launchers and/or remote controls for
weapon systems. Those areas of technology that are considered to be of
benefit to NSW weapon systems will be looked at for exploitation and
integration into new or existing OST projects as funding becomes
available. Considerations will be made for capability demonstrations
for existing hardware that has technical credibility for enhancing NSW
assets. For existing hardware, provide as much information,
(brochures, technical documentation, VHS format videos, ...), as
necessary to describe the systems and its capabilities and the
availability of hardware for demonstrations. For proposed hardware,
submit brief white papers describing the proposed systems and
capabilities as well as developmental times and cost. In submitting
responses, cost, size, weight limitations, manpower and electrical
power demands must be considered as no maritime NSW assets greater than
82 feet in length are being considered for weapons enhancements related
to these proposals. Contract awards stemming from this proposal will be
done on a competitive basis as funding permits or through use of
Cooperative Research and Development Agreements between respective
contractors and NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane. Submission of proposals
originting from other government organizations describing new or
on-going weapons enhancement efforts are also encouraged. Written
responses are requested to be made within 30 days from the publication
of this notice. Extensions will be granted upon written request.
Responses are to be sent to Commander, Crane Division, Naval Surface
Warfare Center, 300 Highway 361, Crane, IN, 47522-5011, Attn: Code
1162NC, Greg Smith. Questions regarding this market survey may be
