A -- RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Sol RG-07-95. POC Contracting Officer: Tracey Willingham. TVA intends to issue a Request for preliminary proposals (RFP) approximately the first week of December 1995 for cooperative projects relating to biomass energy in its U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)/Southeastern Regional Biomass Energy Program (SERBEP) region. DOE established the SERBEP program to promote the development of effective uses of biomass for energy in the southeastern United States. SERBEP is managed by TVA's Biotechnology Research Department in the Environmental Research Center located in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The RFP requirements will be that projects submitted be bioenergy related, demonstration in nature and innovative. Overall minimum cost-sharing of at least one-to-one from nonfederal sources is a requirement. The projects must demonstrate sound scientific principles and management practices, project financial success and significant benefits to society, and be done in the SERBEP region. The region covers AR, SC, VA, FL, GA, TN, KY, MO, LA, MS, WV, AL, and NC. Anyone interested in receiving an RFP package should send their name & address by December 1 to Phillip C.
