Greensboro, NC 27498-1103 C -- INDEFINITE QUANTITY CONTRACT FOR A/E SERVICES FOR THE
SOUTHWESTERN AREA OF THE STATE OF VIRGINIA Due 122095. Contact John
Hagan, A/E (910) 665-2815. One or more contracts for IQC A/E Services
for the design and preparation of contract documents with options for
contract administration and inspection services for the repair and/or
alteration of postal facilities in the state of Virginia, in the
Southwestern area. The contract(s) are also for IQC A/E Services to
complete design of USPS furnished 30% standard plans (Small Standard
Building Designs & Medium Standard Building Designs) for New
Construction owned/leased buildings using cadd in the state of Virginia
in the Southwestern area. Again options for construction administration
and inspection services may be offered. Said area includes the counties
of (Lee, Wise, Scott, Washington, Dickenson, Buchanan, Russell,
Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell, Bland, Caroll, Patrick, Floyd, Pulaski,
Giles, Montgomery, Henry, Pittslvania, Franklin, Bedford, Halifax,
Roanoke, Amherst, Wythe, Craig, Botetourt, Buckingham, Fluvanna,
Appomatox, Mecklenburg, Rockbridge, Campbell, Nelson, Bath, Highland,
and Charlotte. The base term of the contract will be for one year with
four one-year renewal options for a total of five years. Individual
work orders will be negotiated for each project. Individual work orders
cannot exceed $250,000 for all A/E services involved in SSBD & MSBD
buildings and can not exceed $100,000 for all A/E Services for a
repair/alteration project. The total amount of work that may be issued
per 12-month period for A/E services for repairs/alterations projects
is $500,000. Their is no annual minimum for A/E services involved in
SSBD & MSBD projects. The total amount of work ordered over the five
year period cannot exceed $2,500,000. Firms that have the
qualifications to perform the services described are invited to submit
completed SF 255, ``Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire for Specific Project'', and a completed SF 254
``Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire.'' Also submit
a completed SF 254 for each proposed consultant. All submittals are to
be postmarked no later than December 20, 1995. Interested firms with
more than one office must indicate on their SF 255 the staffing
composition of the office in which the work will be performed.
Consideration will be given to firms responding to this advertisement
in accordance with the instruction in the following order of
preference: 1.) Firms located within the Southwest Virginia Area. 2.)
Firms located outside the Southwest Virginia Area. Architectural and
engineering firms will be considered as local only if their sole office
is in Southwest Virginia area or they have a local branch office and
all of the architectural design, coordination, and management of the
project will be performed in that office. There is no restriction of
the geographical location of consultants. The minimum acceptable
architect and engineering complement of the prime firm and consultants
is 2 architects, 1 electrical engineer, 1 mechanical engineer, 1
structural engineer and 1 civil engineer. The contract contains a
requirement for firms to provide evidence of current insurance in the
amount of not less than $200,000 of errors and omissions per claim. At
the discretion of the Contracting Officer, Multiple awards may be
awarded. Participation of minority-owned businesses is a consideration
in U.S. Postal Service Architect-Engineer selections. It is prohibited
to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person
or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for the
project. No other notification for this project will be made.
Submissions will not be retained or returned. This is not a request for
