supervision and transportation required to remove and replace 27
furnaces is 27 housing units (7 single family and 5 quadraplexes);
install 27 water softeners in 27 housing units; connect water piping
and discharge piping; install 4'' thick concrete pads under each new
furnace; remove and replace 27 thermostats; and install GFCI
receptacles for water softeners. All work shall be performed at USCGC
Mackinaw, Mackinaw Housing, Cheboygan, Michigan. Est. range is $100K to
$250K. Anticipated bid opening date is on or about 11 January 1996 but
will be adjusted accordingly pending issuance of the solicitation. The
small business size standard for this contract is 1711 and the average
size standard is $7.0 million. All responsible sources may submit a
bid, which will be considered by the agency. This is an unrestricted
procurement and is open to both small and large business in accordance
with Public Law 100-656. There is a non-refundable deposit required in
the amount of $30.00 per solicitation package. Personal checks are not

transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
