Ohio work includes but is not limited to: Part A-Automation Wing Second
Floor and Attic Rehab: 1)Demolition of partition wall, door and frame
and mechanical air handling units and associated electrical work; 2)Cut
and removal of asbestos-coated steel wall panels; 3)Installation of
partitions, doors, frames, walls, finishes, ceiling systems, plumbing
and mechanical air handling systems, electrical distribution systems,
lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches and grounding applications;
Part B-Fire Protection Modification: 1)Removal of: concrete stoops,
sidewalks, curbs, gutters, paving, trees, asbestos pipe insulation,
fire protection systems, including portions of sprinkler and fire
detection systems, halon systems, pipe hangers and supports, power
control cables and associated conduits from the halon control panels;
2)Installation of: new fire water distribution piping, backflow
preventers, fire pump, sprinkler riser and associated electrical
components; Part C-Automation Wing First Floor, Basement and Control
Wing Host Rehabilitation: 1)Demolition of concrete raised floor
systems, doors, walls, sound absorbing panels, ceiling systems,
carpeting, demountable partition walls, mechanical air handling systems
and electrical systems; 2)Removal of asbestos fireproofing overspray,
pipe insulation fittings and other asbestos containing materials;
3)Installation of new raised floor systems, electrical distribution
systems, lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches and ground
applications. A pre-bid conference/walk through will be conducted. Date
will be announced in the solicitation package. Solicitation package is
anticipated to be issued on or about December 21, 1995. The estimated
bidding range is between $4 million and $10 million. Bid opening date
is anticipated to be on or about February 26, 1996. Submission and
approval of a subcontracting plan is required, prior to award, for
large businesses. A non-refundable fee of $250 is payable to the FAA in
advance for bid sets. The only acceptable method of payment is
Cashier's Check or Money Order. The FAA reserves the right to reserve
quantities as appropriate. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office
of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs
to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises
to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
