National Institute on Drug Abuse is soliciting proposals from qualified
organizations having the capability to perform experiments in rats to
evaluate, in the context of a screening program, the
pharmacotherapeutic utility of test compounds for the treatment of
cocaine abuse. The work to be performed is to evaluate the effects of
test compounds in the rat cocaine self- administration test. Offerors
must submit with the proposal, documentation of a current DEA
registration for Schedule II-V controlled substances. It is estimated
that a 3 year contract, with an additional one year option, will result
from this procurement. Estimated issuance date of RFP No. N01DA-6-8062
is December 19, 1995 and responses are due to be received in the
Contracting Office 45 calendar days thereafter. Written requests for
copies of the solicitation will be honored if received within thirty
calendar days after issuance of the solicitation. Written requests
received after this period will be filled on a first-come, first-served
basis until the supply is exhausted; however, there is no assurance
that copies requested after the specified date will reach the requestor
before the due date for receipt of responses. Written requests shall be
