This is a Source Sought Announcement. The U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command intends to solicit full and open competitive offers for the design, development, test, and manufacture of crew seats for future UH-60 BLACK HAWK Helicopter production. The crew seat requirement will ultimately be defined by way of a performance specification in terms of the required results and criteria for verifying compliance rather than cited Government specifications and standards. Your firm is requested to suggest non-Government standards and industry-wide practices that meet the physical, function, and performance characteristic of the BLACK HAWK crew seat and the intent of the draft specification. Preliminary pricing data, conformance testing lead time and hardware production delivery, along with economic purchase or production lot quantity recommendations is also requested. A draft specification for a second generation crew seat for the BLACK HAWK series helicopter is available and will be furnished to interested sources. Any qualified source interested in furnishing this requirement to ATCOM is encouraged to contact the aforementioned contracting office. The projected requirement is for at least 144 seats with production deliveries commencing in early 1998. This requirement is currently unfunded. Award will be withheld pending receipt of sufficient funds. The cut-off date for responses to this announcement is 15 December 1995. (0333)
