Capron, Contracting Officer, 303/236-8040 x233 Statement of Work Oral History Transcription Services Bureau of Reclamation Service required: Draft transcription of oral history interviews on 60 and 90 minute cassette tapes. It is estimated that up to 150 hours of cassette tapes will be transcribed during fiscal year 1996 ending September 30, 1996. It is projected up to 5500 pages will be transcribed from those hours of tape. Options by year for a total of 4 years, subject to availability of work and money. Specifications for Work: Because oral history transcription work is complex and has its own standards which are not used in other transcription work, all bidders must demonstrate former oral history transcription work experience and, upon request, be prepared to provide two references of former employers for whom oral history transcription work was satisfactorily completed. As part of the technical evaluation, applicants may be requested to transcribe up to one hour of an oral history interview. The Bureau of Reclamation will not reimburse applicant for time or materials for such a transcription. Normal oral history professional transcription standards are detailed in the following publications as well as Reclamation's ''Oral History Program Guidelines: Bureau of Reclamation'': Baum, Willa K., Transcribing and Editing Oral History (Nashville: American Association for State and Local History, 1991) Stephenson, Shirley E., Editing and Indexing: Guidelines for Oral History (Fullerton, California: California State University, 1978). In situations where guidance in the publications conflicts with ''Oral History Program Guidelines. . .'', the ''Oral History Program Guidelines . . .'' shall be used.
