(201)724-7071. The Product Manager for Small Arms at the Army Armament
Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is conducting a
Market Survey of shoulder fired Sniper Weapon Systems. The purpose of
this survey is to solicit information on items which can exceed the
capabilities of the currently fielded M24 Sniper Weapon System. The M24
is a 7.62mm bolt action rifle, mounted with a 10X detachable day optic
sight. The weight of the rifle mounted with the sight is 14.2 pounds.
When firing the military standard M118 Special Ball ammunition, the
system achieves a muzzle velocity of approximately 2600 feet per second
with a maximum effective range of 800 meters. The rifle has an
adjustable trigger and internal, five round magazine. The stock is a
kevlar/graphite composite with an adjustable length of pull and an
aluminum skeleton for support. The day optic has a standard mil dot
reticle pattern, windage and elevation adjustments and comes with a
sunshade and dust covers. When removed and reattached to the rifle,
this telescope will repeat zero within 1/2 minute of angle. If your
firm has either an existing or developmental item which might meet or
exceed these requirements please provide at no cost or obligation to
the Government, brochures or other product information detailing
performance of your product. A questionnaire is also available which
provides in-depth details about characteristics in which the Government
is interested. A copy of this questionnaire and information regarding
this action can be obtained on the internet at
http://procnet.pica.army.mil/misc/snpsvy.html or by contacting Mr. Jim

purposes only. The Government is not at this time committed to any
future acquisition of this item. Should a requirement materialize, it
will be procured in accordance with normal acquisition procedures.
