This is a notice of intent from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to contract on a 100% set-aside basis for small business concerns. NRL has a requirement for technical services to support research, development and evaluation programs aimed at improving Navy radar performance. Required areas of support include: (1) equipment fabrication, assembly, installation and testing for the Navy Radar Display and Distribution System (RADDS), (2) target characterization and radar signal detection/processing, (3) Navy shipboard and airborne radar improvements, (4) system support for VAX and SUN computers and Daisy CAE workstations, (5) computer software development and integration for radar system applications, (6) data assembly and technical editing. The work will be performed primarily at NRL, with some work at the NRL Chesapeake Bay Detachment (CBD), Chesapeake Beach, MD, and a lesser amount at other field sites and aboard ship. A detailed Statement of Work will be issued with the solicitation. The period of performance is sixty (60) months. Numbered Note 1 is applicable to this synopsis.
