348-3727. The Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technology (HCET) at
Florida International University (FIU) is seeking qualified suppliers
to aid in an engineering study for the Technology Assessment for
Improved Structural Demolition Techniques and the testing of various
dust suppression agents. The initial study is a survey to support the
U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science and Technology. The survey
is to solicit techniques and the technologies to suppress dust during
demolition activities for block walls, steel columns with built up
roofs, structural steel frame and poured concrete structures. The
qualified firms shall have experience in nuclear decontamination and
operational experience with the given technology. The possibility
exists for a small scale demonstration of the chosen demolition
technologies at HCET. Also qualified firms must be able to implement
innovate technologies in the D&D demolition industry. The qualified
firms are to provide references of nuclear decontamination jobs
completed. Interested firms should fill out the attached survey form
and send a Letter of Qualification stating how the firm meets the
minimum requirements, including address, contact, telephone and fax
numbers to the attention of Hemispheric Center for Environmental
Technology at Florida International University, Attention Dr. M.A.
