the west airfield lighting system. Work included upgrade of the runway
and overrun lights, cables, threshold lights, distance markers,
taxiway lights, precision approach path indicator systems, ductbanks
and manholes, and airfield signage. Upgrade Lighting Vault - Upgrade
West Runway Lighting Vault. The existing electrical vault, building 54,
is located near the west runway and west of Fifth Street West near J
Street West. All lighting for runway 14R/32L and adjoining taxiways is
served from this vault. An adjoining room contains a 60 KW, 120/208
volt generator which will remain the property of the Government. The
fuel tank for the generator is located above ground near the generator
room. Normal power is provided by a 75 KVA, 13.8 KV Delta to 120/208
grounded WYE pad- mounted transformer. Estimated Cost Range:
$1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Bid sets available at $25.85 for
half-size and $41.35 for full-size. No individual sheets of half-size
drawings may be purchased. Requests by mail must include payment in the
applicable amount by company check or money order made payable to F&A
Officer, USAED FTW and sent to: USACE, Attn: Room 13A42, Post Office
Box 17300, 819 Taylor Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102-0300. NO EXPRESS
MAIL PROCEDURES WILL BE UTILIZED ON INITIAL MAILINGS OF PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS. Requests in person may be paid be cash. No refund will
be made and materials need not be returned. If project is canceled or
no award is made, cost of plans and specifications will be refunded
only upon written request. Solicitation to be issued on or about 19 Dec
95. Bid opening on or about 18 Jan 95. Duration of contract 780 days.
If a large business firm is selected for this announcement, it must
comply with FAR 52.219-9 clause regarding the requirement for a
subcontracting plan. The Fort Worth District's goal for the dollars to
be subcontracted is for 52.5% to go to Small Businesses, of the 52.5%
goal, 8.8% should go to Small Disadvantaged Business, and 3.0% to
