(AEDC), a company in the Arab Republic of Egypt, requests bids from
U.S. firms to provide the following equipment and training services: 9
Base Stations; 145 Fixed Stations; 50 Mobile Radios; 50 Portable
radios; 214 Antennas; 6,750m Coaxial cable; 154 12V Batteries; 155
Battery Chargers; 12 pieces of Test Equipment; and training of AEDC
staff. The anticipated delivery date is October 1, 1996. A Host Country
Contract fixed-priced for equipment and Cost reimbursable for training
services is anticipated. Payment will be made in U.S. Dollars by
USAID/Cairo through a Direct Letter of Commitment under Grant

document is expected to be released after 15 days of publication of
this notice. Bidders will be given 60 days from the date of issuance of
the IFB to prepare and submit their bids. A public bid opening will be
held at the office of the General Manager of Purchasing Department of
AEDC at the time, date and address specified in the IFB document. Late
bids will not be considered. The Government of the Arab Republic of
Egypt and the Agency for International Development encourage and
welcome in this activity the participation, to, the fullest extent
possible, of minorities and women both as individuals and as members of
contracting or sub-contracting firms. In this respect, it is
anticipated that the prime contractor will make every practicable use
