This is a notice of intent to negotiate a contract with Medrad, Inc., of Pittsburgh, PA, for the acquisition of two (2) ea MRI upgrades for the USAF Academy's MRI system. Item 0001 shall be one (1) ea linear receive only torso array coil, a phased array coil for imaging the abdomen, P/N M1087TA; Item 0002 shall be one (1) ea quadrature transmit receive neurovascular coil for screening brains, P/N M1085HN. The system shall be utilized in the USAF Academy's hospital. Delivery FOB Destination: USAF Academy CO 80840. This acquisition is approved for a sole source acquisition action as authorized by AFFAR Supp 5313.106 under Simplified Acquisition Procedures -- No Request for Quote (RFQ) package will be issued -- However, all interested sources may identify their product by submitting pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered and make and model numbers of the equipment -- Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement -- Award will not be made on the basis of responses received to this synopsis -- If no favorable responses are received by close of business 15 days from the date this notice appears in the CBD, a purchase order will be negotiated with the above named source -- See Numbered Note 22.
