The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) intends to solicit only Actronics, 121 Freeport Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 for two CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Learning Systems. The units must offer a learning system which provides a stand-alone capability for instruction and testing. The Systems shall consist of a laser optical, industrial-grade videodisc, a video monitor, a microcomputer, a CD-ROM player, a customized electronic manikin and manikin connection device interfacing to the system. The system must provide the student with interactive instruction, practice, remediation and testing capability. The CPR/ACLS training required must meet American Heart Association guidelines, with flexibility to incorporate new American Heart Association guidelines, when issued. The System must be approved for certifying and recertifying users according to American Heart Association guidelines without instructor involvement. The system is required to contain the following sensors for manikin interactivity: Sensors for evaluating adult and infant CPR techniques including voice frequency, carotid pulse palpation, brachial pulse palpation, abdominal thrust, back blow, body shake, hand position, ventilation volume, landmark position and open airway. Sensors for evaluating ventilation and intubation skills including head position, pressure on teeth, cricoid pressure, presence of tube in the trachea, esophagus or mainstem bronchus, volume of ventilation and tube cuff inflation.
