Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Trust Funds Management,
Albuquerque, New Mexico, proposes to purchase one new mail processing
inserting machine. The mail machine must possess the following
capabilities or features: Must provide Destination Point Bar Code
capability to reduce mailing costs; Software must assure that the
correct number of checks are matched to each customer statement; Able
to generate control codes for downstream processing to assure complete
document integrity; Software must be able to match multiple page
documents with the correct enclosures and assure the integrity of each
collation and each finished mailpiece; Able to add control codes such
as bar codes and dash marks; Supports processing of continuous form
and cut sheet applications; All standard folds must be programmable
into the mail processing system; Scan control codes to fold cut sheet
input documents; Must be able to fold and match single or multiple
pages from enclosure feeder to specific input documents; Matching
Feeder for checks; Separates, feeds, scans, accumulate and fold laser
printed cut sheets at speeds of up to 22,000 pages per hour; Inserter
must be able to allow main mail system to remain idle in case there is
a misfeed; Scans and matches single or multiple pages from the
enclosure feeder to specific documents; Outsorts and stacks exception
mail for further processing without interrupting the mailstream; Meters
postage at high speed and print the exact postage for different weight
breaks; Automatically adjusts to different envelope thickness; Able to
handle envelope size as small as 3 1/2'' wide or as large as 15'' long
and up to 3/4'' thick; Able to feed inserter with open flap envelopes
with closed flap envelopes in the same batch. Every piece of envelope
must come out sealed, weighed, and posted; Input feeder will accept
full 7'' stack or up to 5 pounds of mail; Identifies breaks in the
mailstream by marking envelopes and deflects these envelopes for
sorting requirements such as postal discounts; 6 x 12 capability;
Provide he capability to utilize extended Zip Coding to take advantage
of postage discounts; Provide capability to sort by Zip Code to take
advantage of postage discounts; Provide capability to utilize barcoding
technology to take advantaged of postage discounts; Provide cut sheet
capability on 8.5'' x 11'' paper; Tri-fold Standard #10; Operator
training at time of installation; Parts & Labor Warranty from One (1)
year from date of installation; One year on-site maintenance. Telephone
