202-268-4362. The US Postal Service provides notice of sources sought
for security screening of airline personnel involved in the handling of
US mail. Between 9,000 and 35,000 airlines employees will be required
to be screened during a one year period beginning March 9, 1996. The
airline will choose its source for providing this service. No contracts
will be awarded as a result of this announcement. The Postal Service
seeks sources and information on the screening of airline personnel
involved in the handling of mail as it will require contractors to
screen employees who have access to the mail. The screening requirement
is as follows: 1. A criminal records check through local agencies
(state or county or city) where the applicant has lived and/or worked
for the past five years. 2. The results from a drug screening test for
prohibited drugs. 3. Verification of US citizenship or legal work
status authorizing them to work in the US. No contracts will be awarded
as a result of this announcement. Each contractor will be free to
choose its own agent. Responses to this notice should include: 1.
Experience in providing screening of personnel. 2. Estimate of cost for
each screening by category above. 3. Estimate of turn around time.
Samples of invoices. Mark any information restricted as such. The
Postal Service intends to provide this information to interested
