D -- ACQUISITION OF MANAGERIAL AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE BROADBAND CABLE NETWORK AND THE NETWORK MANAGEMENT CENTER SOL DASW01-95-R-0325 DUE 011996 POC Contact Cathy Buehler, 703/614-8525, Contracting Officer, Mary Lohmann, 703/614-2106 The Defense Supply Service-Washington intends to procure, through the 8(a) competitive program, managerial and operational support services under SIC code 4813. Required services include (1) network management, i.e., fault management, name management, configuration management, accounting management, administration, and performance management; (2) operations and maintenance of the network systems, to include but not be limited to the Broadband Cable Network (BCN), Army Management Support Network (AMSNET), Defense Secure Network (DSNET), and Virtual Machines Decision Support System (VM DSS); (3) system support; and (4) designing, planning, installing, cabling, testing and integration. In addition, the contractor shall be expected to perform Network Security services. These services include (1) monitoring all networks for which the Single Agency Manager for Pentagon Information Technology Services (SAM) is responsible; (2) planning and performing vulnerability analysis and assessments; (3) assisting in the preparation of network security training programs; and (4) reporting of prescribed incidents. All systems are located in the Pentagon or surrounding National Capital Region (NCR). The total effort shall be for a base year and two option years. The proposed acquisition is limited to eligible 8(a) concerns who qualify under SIC 4813. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted. Interested 8(a) firms are encouraged to request a copy of the solicitation as expeditiously as possible since the solicitation will be issued without further notice upon SBA acceptance of the requirement for the section 8(a) program.
