On-call maintenance, repair, and calibration on one United, model
SFM-10, and one United, model SFM-110, tensile tester, which are
located in building 100, bay E, at Hill AFB UT. These tensile testers
are used for testing metals, nonmetals and other materials. Basic Year:
1 Feb 96 - 31 Jan 97; option 1: 1 Feb 97 - 31 Jan 98; option 2: 1 Feb
98 - 31 Jan 99; option 3: 1 Feb 99 - 31 Jan 00; option 4: 1 Feb 00 - 31
Jan 01. Repair of these tensile testers and the Air Force's minimum
needs can only be provided by United Testing Systems, Inc. Due to the
fact that United is the only company with the appropriate knowledge and
training of their computerized tensile testers that any other company
repairing these testers would need special training by United to
accomplish the service. Some repair parts from United are proprietary
in nature. Non-manufacture repair parts cause compatibility problems,
and result in the hybrid machine that could not be repaired in
competitive bidding. The approximate issue/response date will be 27 Dec
95. The anticipated award date will be 01 Apr 96. Written procedure
will be used for this solicitation. To: United Testing Systems Inc,
Huntington Beach CA. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed
requests received directly from the requestor are acceptable. All
responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation
which shall be considered. The proposed contract action is for
supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the
authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest
and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This
notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However,
all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is
issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of
publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A
Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract
based upon responses to this otice is solely within the discretion of
the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely
for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. It is suggested that small business firms or others
interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the
described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Requests
for copies of solicitations must reference the entire solicitation
number, including purchasing office identification number. To expedite
your request, limit the number of individual solicitation numbers
requested per letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on
