Japan, Camp Zama, Japan for 20 students on the Introduction of SureTrak
Project Manager (Course No. 401) and Planning & Scheduling with P3 for
Windows (Course No. 501) (Primavera Systems, Inc.). Course No. 501 is
targeted for new users of P3, and therefore, no prior knowledge by the
student is necessary; however, a working knowledge of Windows is
required. The course will provide hands-on training for all
participants. The course will provide hands-on training for all
participants. The course is a three day course with 11 hands-on
workshops that create and track an entire project to completion using
the three basic elements of project management, which are: schedule,
resources and costs. The students will be taught the following:
Fundamentals of Project Management; Establishing the Project Coding
Structures; Develop the Schedule; Defining Calendars and Constraints;
Customizing the Layout; Verifying Project Data; Managing Resources and
Costs; Creating Target Plan; and, Updating the Current Schedule.
Course No. 401 requires a working knowledge of Windows and is designed
for small to medium sized projects. The course is a two day course in
which students will learn how to plan and control projects and will
create a project from scratch, define and assign resources, organize
and analyze activities and update the project to show progress. The
students will be taught the following: Getting to know SureTrak;
Introduction to Project Management; Outlining Projects; Establishing
Workweeks and Workdays; Scheduling; Introducing Layouts; Adding
Activities and Relationships; Introducing Resources and their
Calendars; Organizing the Summarizing Activities; Monitoring, Upd ating
and Optimizing the Project; Customizing Layouts; and, Establishing
Target Dates and Budgets. The class commencement date is 18 March 1996
thru 22 March 1996. The proposed action is for services which cannot
be procured through full and open competition because the authority
cited states only one responsible source and no other services will
satisfy Agency requirements, FAR 6.302-1(c). The training shall be
conducted by a Primavera Authorized Training Representative and shall
be taught by a Primavera Certified Instructor. The firms that recognize
and can produce required services described above are encouraged to
identify themselves to the Contracting Officer and provide supporting
evidence to the Contracting Officer which will permit participation in
