(703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to conduct a full
and open competition to procure an AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning Set
Microprocessor Software Upgrade, AN/AAR-47 Microprocessors, and related
support services. The procurement will include a requirement in the
basic contract for 10 AN/AAR-47 pre-production microprocessor circuit
card assemblies. The basic contract also will include options to
procure in step ladder quanities 100 to 1000 (AN/AAR-47 production
units), 150 to 1000 (AN/AAR-47 production units), 1 to 5 (AV-8B
pre-production units), and 15 to 160 (AV-8B production units),
respectively, which must be built in accordance with a validated
performance specification. The procurement will also provide for up to
26,000 hours of related support services during the base and four
option years. A written request for the draft RFP must be immediately
mailed or hand carried to the Naval Air System Command, ATTN: LAWANA
PRESSLEY-LAWSON (AIR-2.2.2.1), 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway, Bldg #JP1,
Room 176, Arlington, VA 22243-5120. Due to the classified nature of the
RFP, requests for a copy of the ''draft'' RFP must include the
information necessary to transfer ''SECRET'' level classified
information. Security clearances must be sent to KENNETH FREYVOGEL

Firms interested in subcontract opportunities may request to view the
performance specification at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL)
technical library in Washington, D.C. Point of contact (POC) at the NRL
technical library is TOM MAY, (202) 767-3281. Based on current Navy
plans, the RFP and performance specification will be release to
industry as a ''draft'' on 10 January 1996 for pickup and mailing for
a period of three weeks. The unclassified portion of the RFP will be
available at 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway, Building #JP1, Room 176. The
classified portion of the RFP will be available at the above address in
Building #JP2, Room 240. Contractor comments on the ''draft'' RFP are
requested and may be included in the formal RFP. The tentative
schedules for the Pre-solicitation conference is 1 February 1996; the
formal soliciation release date is 15 February 1996; and the proposal
due date is 18 March 1996. The single Government POC is LAWANA
PRESSLEY-LAWSON on 13 or 14 February 1996 to confirm the solicitation's
