The Dept. of Transportation, Transportation Administrative Service Bureau's (TASB) plans to release the formal Information Omnibus Procurement (ITOP) Request for Proposal (RFP) in January 1996 with forty-five (45) day proposal due date. When we release the Formal RFP and related documents, they will be available electronically 24 hours a day via a DOT Bulletin Board, the DOT World Wide Web (WWW) Server, and Gopher if you are directly connected to the Internet. When connected, please fill in the registration information completely and follow the instructions to download the documents. You can access the DOT Office of Information Resource Management Bulletin Board by dailing 202-366-3373 using standard communications software. From the Main Menu, select ''F'' File Transfer Area, then #6 ITOP, Information Technology Omni Procurement with Enter Key. If you have any technical difficulties regarding modem access, please contact Steve Pauley at 202-366-6394. Currently, the draft RFP and related documents are available on the Bulletin Board. You can reach the DOT WWW Server at ''http://www.dot.gov/dotinfo/ost/ostrfp.html''. when connected, select the link titled ''Browse the DOT Administration'', then the item titled ''Office of the Secretary'', then the item ''Procurement Information & Policy'', and then the ITOP RFP under the heading ''OST CBD Notices and RFPs''. Currently, the draft RFP and related documents are available on the WWW. You can reach the DOT Gopher Server at ''gopher.dot.gov'' or toll free dial up at 1-800-665-6087. Once connected, select the menu titled ''New Announcements and Procurement Information'' and then the item titled ''Office of the Secretary''. If you have any technical difficulties regarding the WWW or Gopher, please contact Kevin Maher at 202-366-6301. The Government will not distribute hard copies of the Formal RFP, unless a request is received electronically via E-Mail at Bill_Clark@postmaster2.DOT.GOV, via facsimile at 202-366-9848 or in writing atthe address cited, Attn: Bill Clark. Request for hard copies should be submitted as soon as possible after the date of this synopsis. Due to the large number on the bidders list, vendors requesting hard copies should allow approximately 10 days for Government processing and mailing from the date the Formal RFP is released or the date the request for the RFP is received, whichever is later. DOT anticipates that any amendments to the Formal RFP will be disseminated to vendors via the method the Formal RFP was received. DOT will not consider telephonic requests. The formal RFP will contain specific instructions for submittal of comments after release. (0342)
