J -- REPAIR, REPAIR PARTS, PREPLANNED PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT (P3I) AND FIELD ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR DOPPLER SONAR VELOCITY LOG AN/WQN- SOL N00024-96-G-4110 POC Mr. David J. Dawson, Contract Specialist, (703) 602-0200, ext. 414. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) to Sperry Marine, Inc., 1070 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22201. The purpose of this BOA is to perform the following functions: a. Receive, Open, and Inspect, Government - owned, Sperry Marine Inc.- Manufactured Doppler Sonar Velocity Log (AN/WQN-2) Equipment; b. Repair, Alteration and Maintenance of Doppler Sonar Velocity Log (AN/WQN-2) Equipment; c. Preplanned Product Improvement (P3I) for Doppler Sonar Velocity Log (AN/WQN-2) Equipment; d. Provide replacement spares and components for Doppler Sonar Velocity Log (AN/WQN-2). Orders will be issued pursuant to 10 U. S. C. 2303 (c)(1). Sperry Marine, Inc., is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Doppler Sonar Velocity Log (AN/WQN-2) and as such is the only company qualified to perform the above functions on its Sonar Velocity Equipment. No other source has the technical qualifications and the necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies of services satisfy the Navy's requirements.
