COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF DECEMBER 13,1995 PSA#1489National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Goddard Space Flight
Center, Code 213, Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20771 66 -- AUGER ELECTRON SPECTROSCOPY (AES) SYSTEM SOL RFP5-51951/096 POC
Patrick D. Logan, Contracting Officer, 301/286-0654. NASA/Goddard
Space Flight Center intends to issue a sole source solicitation to
Fison Instruments for a Model 310-F Scanning Auger Electron
Spectroscopy (AES) system pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One
Responsible Source. This system shall replace an existing AES system.
The system must have a field emission electron gun for high spatial
resolution and spherical sector analyzer with high energy resolution
mapping capabilities, a back scatter electron detector, geometry to
allow angle resolved depth profiles for thin films, and sample stage
for rotation while sputtering. The specifications for the scanning AES
system are as follows: Field emission optical system with 0.5 to 25
keV, continuously variable beam energy, magnification range or
10x-500000x, electron energy analyzer with energy range up to 25 keV,
energy resolution variable 0.2% to 2% computer controlled, high dynamic
range multi-channel array parallel detector, Ion source with 0.1-4 keV
beam energy for inert gases, high stability, low drift, single
specimen stage of less than 400nm/hour at room temperature with image
drift correction, ports for fracture and heating stages and SIMS. It is
the Government's intent to acquire this system on a lease-to-purchase
agreement for a one year period with four one year option periods, with
an option to purchase this equipment at any time during the contract
period. The Contractor shall also provide installation and training at
the GSFC facility. Fisons Instruments is the only known source that
can provide equipment that meets all of the above specifications
necessary for analysis of microcircuits, microsensors, microoptical
devices as well as providing chemical analysis for GSFC's spaceflight
research. While this notice is not a request for proposals, any firm
capable of meeting the above requirements, must respond by submitting
a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed
technical information and literature with price information, which
demonstrates the ability to meet this requirement, to the Contracting
Officer identified above within 15 days of this synopsis date. NASA
reserves the right not to copete this requirement based on an
evaluation of responses received as a result of this notice. No collect
calls or telephone requests will be accepted. (0345) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0281 19951212\66-0003.SOL)
