of Health (NIH) is seeking qualified sources to provide annual safety
inspections and, if applicable, reinspections, of elevators, escalators
and dumbwaiters located throughout the NIH campus, Bethesda, MD; the
NIH Animal Center, Poolesville, MD; the Federal Building, Bethesda, MD;
and the Twinbrook II Building, Rockville, MD for a period of one year
with options to extend performance four successive 12-month periods.
Inspections shall be in accordance with ASME/ANSI A17.1 Elevator Safety
Code, A17.2 Elevator Inspectors Manual, and A17.3 Safety Code for
Exising Elevators and Escalators, latest edition. Elevator Systems
Inspectors must have no less than five consecutive years of
certification by the National Association of Elevator Safety
Authorities (NAESA). Concerns having the ability to provide the
required services are invited to give written notification (including
telephone number and a point of contact) to the procuring office listed
in this notice within 15 calendar days from the date of publication of
this notice. Firms having the required specialized capabilities to
meet the above requirements should submit appropriate documentation,
literature, brochures, and references to demonstrate and support that
they possess the necessary experience, resources and personnel to
successfully accomplish the described effort. This synopsis is for
information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for
information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results
of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be
considered in any resultant solicitation. Firms responding should
indicate whether they are a socially or economically disadvantaged
business firm, an 8(a) firm, a small business, and/or woman-owned
business. The Government reserves the right to consider a small
business set aside, or 8(a) set aside based upon requests hereto.
