The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is considering the development of a
program to support our military activities with industrial compressed
and liquefied gases. Our intent is to develop a contractual vehicle by
which the customer may purchase and have delivered in a timely manner
to a designated location any specified compressed gas. Contractual
regions within the Continental United States (CONUS) are being
considered to provide this gas product and cylinder service support.
The following questions highlight the specific information needed by
the DLA to develop such a program. Do not feel limited to these
questions only, you are welcome to provide any additional information
you desire. 1. Can you provide the following gases in cylinders of the
capacity and pressure indicated? Acetylene, 10 thru 330 CF; Argon, 200
thru 266 CF, 1800-2400 PSIG; Argon, 381 CF, 3500 PSIG; Argon, 578 CF,
6000 PSIG; Carbon Dioxide, 50 thru 100 lbs, 1800-2265 PSIG, Carbon
Dioxide, Bulk; Chlorine, 100 thru 150 lbs; Helium, 178 thru 220 CF,
1800-2265 PSIG; Hydrogen, 175 thru 216 CF, 1800-2265 PSIG; Oxygen,
Welding, 200 thru 308 CF, 1800-2400 PSIG; Oxgyen, Aviators, 200 thru
308 CF, 1800-2400 PSIG; Oxygen, Aviators, Bulk Cryogenic Liquid;
Nitrogen, 187 thru 276 CF, 1800-2400 PSIG; Nitrogen, 336 thru 344 CF,
3500-3600 PSIG; Nitrogen, 494 CF, 6000 PSIG; Nitrogen, Bulk Cryogenic
Liquid; Propane, 100 thru 200 lbs; Nitrogen, Bulk. 2. What other gas
products can you provide? 3. Would a regional/national contract provide
the best support for our customers? 4. Do you have a nation-wide
distribution system; If not, where are your distributors located or how
could you support multi-locations within specified
regions/nation-wide/overseas? 5. What is your minimum order quantity
for any of the specified gases? 6. What would be your average time to
fill a delivery order from the time of pick-up of empty government
owned cylinders to the time of delivery of product? 7. What are your
capabilities in complete refurbishment and reconditioning of cylinders
to meet all requirements of DOT? 8. Do you have the capability to
palletize cylinders in both or either the horizontal or vertical
position on 40 by 48 inch pallets? 9. Do you accept credit cards? 10.
How would you prefer handling the billing? E.G. centrally, individually
by customer, individually by distributor, etc. 11. Do you have any
cylinder pressure limitations in your cylinder filling capabilities?
