in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 95.336. 1. Member to

to the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (pages 4002-4005). 6.
Description of content: This Amendment to the Motor Vehicle Safety
Regulations, Section 214 ``Side Door Strength'' will reduce the safety
hazard caused by intrusion into the passenger compartment of a motor
vehicle impacted in the side during an accident. It extends to buses,
multipurpose passenger vehicles (mpv's), and trucks having a gross
vehicle weight rating of less than 4,536 kgs., the requirement which
currently applies only to passenger cars. With the vehicle firmly tied
down, the side doors must provide a specified minimum resistance to
crush when they are loaded from the outside by a slowly moving half
cylinder. The cylinder, moving over a distance of 460 mm, simulates the
intrusion of a round pole into the side of the vehicle. 7. Objective
