NRAD/AFCEA JOINT C4I SYMPOSIUM 7-9 MAY 1996, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - ``MAN AND MACHINE MEET IN THE MESH: BUILDING NAVAL PLATFORMS AROUND C4I TECHNOLOGY'' The Naval Command, Control and Ocean Surveillance Center Research Development, Test and Evaluation Division (NRaD) and the San Diego Chapter of AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) are soliciting classified and unclassified papers. Appropriate topics in C4I technology and interoperability challenges include but are not limited to: Implementation of Interoperable architectures in the next generation of mobile systems; advantages to be gained from a commercially-driven marketplace for this technology; interfaces Naval Systems and platforms will need to operate with Joint Force and Coalition Systems; distribution of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance information within Navy platforms and among Maritime platforms/units; how do components within an Amphibious Ready Group or a JTF Afloat interface with each other?; approaches to sharing local and Remote Sensor Data between Command and Combat Direction Systems; evolution of Internet and Intellink technologies to meet future requirements; what opportunities arise with the implementation of ATM?; internal information architectures envisioned for SC21, Arsenal Ship, CVX-78, JAST, Common Support Aircraft and USMC platforms; will a JTIDS-based Super Link architecture be sustainable and responsive in the face of technology changes?; what strategies and processes have the Systems Commands established to address all of these issues? Deadline for one-page abstract is 15 February 1996.
