labor, material, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary
to replace the roll-up doors at USCG Station Jones Beach, Freeport, NY
(Nassau County). Work includes removal of 22' x 26' west bay door,
brick in opening for new 12' x 12' bay door; remove and replace 22' x
26' east bay door with a new door; installation of four (4) new
concrete filled steel pipe bollards is also required. Doors to be
installed using the existing hardware and motors. Performance time: 45
days from receipt of NTP. The SIC code is 1541. Estimated cost of this
project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages to be
available on or about January 3, 1996. THERE IS A $20.00 NON-REFUNDABLE

Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration program and is open for
bidding to both small and large business concerns. INFORMATION

Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, woman-owned, and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program nables firms to apply for bid,
payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 millin per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a suret against losses.
Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Proram (STLP)
at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. he
