358-5065 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to increase
the maximum quantities for CLINs 2001a1, 2001b1, 2001c, 2001e1, and
2002 under contract DTFA01-94-D-03012. CLIN 2001a1 provides Centralized
Maintenance Terminal, CLIN 2001b1 provides Communications Server
Station Base Unit, CLIN 2001c provides In-Plant 16 Port Expansion, CLIN
2001e1 provides Serial Port Expansion Cable, and CLIN 2002 provides
Centralized Maintenance Terminal Software for the Down-Scoped Radio
Control Equipment (DSRCE) provided under contract DTFA01-94-D-03012.
The FAA intends to increase the maximum quantity for CLIN 2001a1 from
49 to 105, CLIN 2001b1 from 49 to 105, CLIN 2001c from 70 to 125, CLIN
2001e1 from 249 to 789, and CLIN 2002 from 50 to 108 units. A
determination to use other than full and open competition will be made
in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, which provides for contracting on a
sole source basis in situations where only one source is capable and/or
qualified to provide the supplies. Due to the fact that Communications
Systems Technology, Inc. (CSTI) is currently providing the DSRCE and
has independently designed and developed the related CSTI
hardware/software, they are the only known firm which can provide the
