and maintenance of Culligan duplex dosium zeolite water softeners and
duplex chloride aniondealkalizers located at fourteen boilers plants at
Hill AFB UT. Work shall include the testing and necessary repair of the
electronic control systems, timers, and hydraulic valves, and cleaning
and replenishment of the resin beds as required to replace the
softeners and dealkalizers to satisfactory operating condition.
Contractor shall also furnish labor, parts and tanks to provide
distilled water to five bldgs at Hill AFB UT. Tanks to be 200 gallons
capacity shall be changed as needed, or every three months whichever
comes first. Plus four one year options. Performance period: 01 Mar 96
- 30 Sep 96 with four one year option. The approximate issue/response
date will be 02 Jan 96. The anticipated award date will be 01 Mar 96.
Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. No telephone
requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the
requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit
a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Requests for
copies of solicitations must reference the entire solicitation number,
including purchasing office identification number. To expedite your
request, limit the number of individual solicitation numbers requested
per letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on this
requirement until after the issue date. This proposed procurement is
under a 100 percent small business set aside, the size standard of
annual receipts of $3.5 million dollars. An Ombudsman has been
appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during
the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposls or in the source selection
