M -- LEASE OF FLOATING DRDOCK YFD-70 SOL N00024-96-R-8103 DUE 022996 POC Jonathan Hall, Contracting Officer, 703-602-6911. The Naval Sea Systems Command is planning to lease Floating Dry Dock YFD-70 to U.S. Port Authority or U.S. owned, operated and licensed firm engaged in shipbuilding, ship repair, and/or overhaul work within the United States its territories, possessions, and Puerto Rico. The Dry Dock will be leased on an ''as is, where is'' basis for use at the Lessee's site. The Lessee must take delivery and is responsible for all costs associated with preparing the YFD-70 for tow, towing the YFD-70 from its current location to its approved site, preparing the operating basin to receive the drydock while complying with all Federal, State and local environmental laws, mooring the dock in accordance with an approved plan, making the dock fully operational, and obtaining Navy certification. In addition to the normally required levels of insurance, the Lessee shall provide suitable insurance for risk of loss of the YFD-70 while in transit. The Lessee also must maintain Navy certification of the YFD-70 for the duration of the Lease at their own expense and without alteration or modification of the dry dock. Dry dock drawings and technical manuals for all systems and dry dock equipment are available for prospective offerors review aboard the YFD-70 at Todd Pacific Shipyards Corporation, Seattle WA.
