repairs to the VLF Antenna Top Panel failsafe insulators, removal of
existing failsafe insulators and their replacement with new Government
furnished contractor installed racal-decca insulators and incidental
relatedwork. Contractor Experience: The contractor shall submit to the
contracting officer the documentation specified below verifying
compliance with the following experience requirements: A. Experience of
the contractor - contractor shall comply with oneof the following two
conditions: (1) The contractor shall be employed in the construction of
Guyed Towers in excess of 600 feet. The contractor shall have
successfully constructed, during the past seven years, at least one
Guyed Tower in excess of 600feet in height with structural guys having
pretension loads in excess of 20,000 pounds. (2) The contractor shall
be employed in structural modifications to Guyed Towers in excess of
600 feet. The contractor shall have successfully replaced or
removedstructural guys having pretension loads in excess of 20,000
pounds on guyed towers in excess of 600 feet in height within the past
seven years. B. Definitions for experience requirements: (1) the
phrase ''Construction of guyed Towers in excess of 6000Feet in Height''
as used in the experience requirements means specifically ''assembled
all of the primary structural subsystems of Guyed Towers not
necessarily including fabrication of the subsystems.'' Examples of the
primary subsystems are: the towershaft (leg, diagonal, and horizontal
members) and structural guys. (2) The phrase ''Structural
Modifications to Guyed Towers'' as used in the experience requirements
means specifically ''removed or replaced structural guys on Guyed
Towers in excess of 600feet in height having guy pretension loads
greater than 20,000 pounds.'' C. Date of Experience Determination: The
date for the determination of the experience claimed by the contractor
shall be the date which is specified for this solicitation bidopening.
Tentative dates for solicitation reease 5 January 1996; bid opening 6
February 1996. The antenna tower will be available for repairs from 15
May 1996 to 15 October 1996. All contract work shall be completed no
later than 330 days afteraward. A limited number of Bid Packages will
be available and issued on a first come, first serve basis. NO CHARGE
WILL BE MADE FOR THE FIRST SET OF SPECIFICATIONS AND HALF-SIZE PLANS.
Additional sets will be furnished upon receipt of non-refundablecheck
or money order of $20 each for the half-size plans and $25 for the
full-size plans. No more than two (2) additional sets will be available
to each requester. Plans and specifications will not be forwarded until
receipt of check or money order.BOTH WRITTEN AND FAX REQUESTS WILL BE
