(818) 354-4693. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory/California Institute of
Technology (JPL/CIT) will conduct an Industry Briefing at 9:00 a.m.
(E.S.T.) on Friday, January 12, 1996 at the National Highway Traffic
Administration (NHTSA) Headquarters located at 400 Seventh Street S.W.,
Room 8236, in Washington, D.C. Discussions will cover the objectives of
the VDTV procurement in general and will focus, in particular, on the
VDTV specifications. Companies or teams interested in this effort
should have strong and proven automobile engineering and fabrication
experience in the building of instrumented research vehicles.
Additionally, technical disciplines of systems engineering, dynamics
analysis, and testing are necessary. Interested organizations are
advised that the successful bidder is required to interface with JPL to
integrate the JPL-developed Measurement Subsystem into the VDTV. The
Measurement Subsystem will acquire vehicle and driver data, process and
store same, and subsequently transmit said data to an offboard
location. Firms are requested to limit the number of attendees to no
more than two (2) representatives. Please submit the names of attendees
