The Air Force has a potential requirement for 582 kits to modify -135 aircraft to include GCAS. GCAS will provide audio and visual warnings to the pilot whenever it determines from the information it receives from aircraft sensors that a potential Controlled Flight into Terrain condition exists. The contract will include engineering, integration, trial installation, kit proof, and production of GCAS kits. The period of performance is anticipated to be from FY95 through FY01. Award may include options. All responsible sources may submit proposals. The draft RFP will be released on or about 15 Feb 96.
