R -- HISTORICALLY BLACK UNIVERSITY CONFERENCE SOL RFP 101-22-95 DUE 011695 POC Contracting Officer, Judith Sterne, (202)523-3454 The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a contract to Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas (a historically Black University) for conference planning, coordination, and delivery. Prairie View University will assists the Department of Veterans Affairs in putting on the ''Successful Partnering' Conference (a informational workshop for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, and Native American tribal colleges). The conference is scheduled for April 23-26, 1995 at Florida International University, Miami, Florida. Approximately 80 universities from the Southeastern Region and Puerto Rico will be attending. The contractor will be required to conduct a site visit; coordinate and manage the logistics as related to workshops, exhibits, etc.; prepare and send invitations, make all arrangements for lodging, meals and transportation; coordinate registration; prepare, assemble, and distribute registration kits and conference materials; collect the participants' evaluations of the confrence and prepare an evaluation report; assist in coordinating special activities for senior officials and other dignitaries; attend planning meetings; and print the conference materials. The statutory authority for this procurement is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), only one responsible source. Any other Historically Black College and University or Hispanic Serving Institutions, or Native American tribal colleges desiring consideration are requested to fully identify their capabilities in writing within fifteen (15) days of the publication of this synopsis to the contracting officer listed above.
