U -- MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE TRAINING SERVICES - POTENTIAL SOURCE SOUGHT Contact - Paul A. Simons (513) 648-7173. Fernald Environmental Restoration Management Corporation (FERMCO), Contractor for the DOE's Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP), seeks QUALIFIED SOURCE(s) to provide a four year Maintenance Apprenticeship Training Program for normal maintenance crafts. This training program shall be developed specifically for the FEMP site. The program should be easily accessible to the employee and the site training department for information and inquiries. The training program must meet stringent Ohio Department of Labor's Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training criteria. The program must provide supervisors with organized information about a wide range of apprenticeship curriculums that can be expanded and tailored to meet the needs of the site now and in the future, as the program progresses throughout the years. Also required is the standardization of apprentice training work schedule and periodic review/feedback to the applicant and/or committee on his progress. Distance Training is the most desired/practical form of training that will allow the site applicants to have limited classroom type training but allows the applicant to progress through the program at a rate that is self paced. There is a need for full administration services that include the following: a) Apprentice training needs assessment analysis, b) Training program design/development, c) Diagnostic assessment, d) Materials distribution, e) Testing and scoring services, f) Students record keeping, g) Progress reports to management, h) Motivational communications, i) Course completion certificates. The program must be a four year program before completion. The recommended minimum of 144 hours/year of related instructional training. A total of 8,000 hours over the four year program of supervised field experience with a breakout of averaging 2,000 hours/year.
